Weak ridge remains over central/northern QLD, causing warm, sunny weather. Strong trough moves east across southern QLD, then offshore Friday, reaching north QLD on Saturday. Warm winds precede trough, followed by gusty cooler winds.

A ridge remains over central and northern Queensland, bringing warm and sunny weather. A strong trough will move east across southern Queensland, then offshore on Friday, and reach north Queensland on Saturday. This trough will bring warm northwesterly winds ahead of it and gusty, cooler southwesterly winds behind it.

Friday: Dry and sunny in Central and Northern Queensland. Gusty westerly winds, with some showers and thunderstorms in southern and southeastern Queensland. Morning fog possible in the Gulf Country and between Innisfail and Mackay. Lower maximum temperatures in the Channel Country, higher elsewhere and much higher in central and southeast Queensland. Lower minimum temperatures in the far north, higher elsewhere. High fire danger in central and southern areas.
Saturday: Dry and sunny. Cool and gusty southwesterly winds in southern and southeast Queensland. Morning frost in central interior. High fire danger in central, southern, and southeast Queensland. Above average max temps on east coast, slightly below average elsewhere. Min temps slightly below average, tending slightly above average in northeast.
Sunday: Dry and sunny with morning frost in southern and central interior. Below average minimum temperatures, near average maximum temperatures.
Monday: Dry and sunny inland with some clouds in the east and isolated showers on the coast. Morning frost in the south. Above average highs and below average lows on Monday, trending towards above average lows from Tuesday.
