North Queensland

  • Herbert and Lower Burdekin Max 25°C, partly cloudy, 20% chance of rain. Partly cloudy, slight chance of a north shower. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day, then becoming light in the evening.

  • North Tropical Coast and Tablelands Max 25°C, partly cloudy, 20% chance of rain. Partly cloudy. High chance of showers about the Cassowary Coast, slight to medium chance elsewhere. Winds east to southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h.

  • Cairns Max 27, Partly cloudy, 30% chance of rain. Partly cloudy, slight chance of a shower. Winds southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h becoming light in the evening.

  • Mackay Max 23°C, 40% chance of rain. Partly cloudy, medium chance of showers, becoming less likely in the afternoon. SE winds 15-25 km/h, becoming light later.

High extends over Queensland, drifting east, weakening ridge over the state. Cloud band may extend into southwestern Queensland. Weak trough may move through southeastern Queensland next week.

State

A NSW offshore high stretches over QLD with a weakening ridge. The high will move eastward, retaining a weakening ridge. Over the weekend, a cloud band may reach southwest QLD. A weak trough could affect southeast QLD next week.
