Weak ridge persists over eastern Queensland, trough moving east across central and southeast Queensland, brings cooler air, high combines with trough and ex-Tropical Cyclone Lola to increase winds and seas off southeast coast, high reaches Tasman Sea, Lola may move south towards New Zealand, new trough may move east across Queensland next week.
State
Weak ridge remains over eastern Queensland. Moving trough across central and southeast Queensland, heading offshore on Friday. High from Great Australian Bight brings cooler air to southern and central Queensland. High combines with offshore trough and ex-Tropical Cyclone Lola to increase winds and seas off southeast coast on Friday. High reaches Tasman Sea on Saturday, with ridge persisting over state. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lola may move south towards New Zealand next week. New trough may move across Queensland next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Friday: Severe thunderstorms likely in southeast and central districts. Showers and thunderstorms possible in east and central districts, with widespread showers in southeast. Clear elsewhere. Dust in the west. Winds mainly from southeast to southwesterly in western and southern areas, spreading to other districts later. Winds light to moderate from northwest to northeasterly in remaining areas.
