National
Southern Tasman Sea high extends firm ridge over state, drifting east next days, weakening ridge near Queensland coast. Weak trough over northern interior drifts westward, dissipating after Sunday. Another trough moves into southwest Monday, moving east
across southern Queensland Tuesday. May drift northward over central districts Wednesday and Thursday. Dry, gusty northwesterly winds lead to hot conditions, elevated fire dangers inland next week.
State
High in southern Tasman Sea extends ridge over east of state, drifting east and weakening ridge along Queensland coast. Weak trough in northern interior dissipates after Sunday. Another trough moves into far southwest of state late Monday, moving east across southern Queensland on Tuesday, possibly reaching South East coast later in the day. Trough may drift northward and become slow moving over central districts on Wednesday and Thursday. Dry and gusty northwesterly winds ahead of trough bring hot conditions and elevated fire dangers over inland central, southern, and western districts early next week.

Sunday: There will be some isolated showers along certain coastal areas and regions like the North Tropical Coast and the Torres Strait. Other areas will be mostly clear, with a possibility of smoke haze in central and northwestern districts. Winds will be light to moderate from the east to southeasterly direction, occasionally fresh along the central and southeast coast. Hazardous surf conditions along the K'gari coast will improve overnight.
Monday: Forecast: Isolated showers in the Torres Strait. Chance of showers or thunderstorms in the Gulf Country. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Winds will change from northwesterly to southerly. High temperatures in the southwest, above average in central and southern areas, and near average elsewhere. Low temperatures in central and southeastern Queensland. High Fire dangers in west central and southern interior.
Tuesday: Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in South Brisbane to Warwick. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Dry, gusty winds increase fire risk in the southern and southeastern interior. Moderate winds in southern and southeastern interior, changing to southwesterly in the afternoon and evening. Above average maximum temperatures, except near average in north of Townsville. Near or below average minimum temperatures in eastern districts and Far North Queensland.
Wednesday: Isolated showers & thunderstorms in east districts, scattered near east coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Dry winds, fire danger in west & inland south QLD. High temperatures, near average in some regions. Low temperatures near or below average along east coast & Far North QLD.
