Synoptic Situation

Well, it seems like we've got a weak ridge hanging out in northeastern Queensland, just kind of lounging around. Meanwhile, down by the Sunshine Coast in southeast Queensland, there's a weak trough causing a bit of a stir. Don't worry though, it's expected to move offshore soon, probably because it's tired of all the drama. Tomorrow, a weak high might decide to grace southeastern Australia with its presence before heading off to the Tasman Sea. It plans to bring along a ridge filled with dry air, because who doesn't love a little breeze? But wait, there's more! Next week, we might see another trough and some clouds rolling in from the west. It's like a parade, but with weather patterns. So, keep an eye out for these developments as they make their way across the state. It's like watching a slow-motion dance routine, but with less sequins and more meteorology. Enjoy the show!

Sunday, 22nd September

Well, it seems like the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields, Upper Flinders, Capricornia, Central Highlands and Coalfields, and North West Districts are in for some high temperatures today. So, be prepared for some heat in those regions.

Monday, 23rd September

Looks like the sun will be shining bright in most parts of the state today, with just a few clouds hanging out in the far west. Keep an eye out for some sneaky fog in the morning down south near Mackay. And if you're in the southern Darling Downs or Granite Belt, don't be surprised if you wake up to a frosty surprise. Temperatures will be feeling a bit cheeky today, with highs above average and even some well above average in the inland south. But don't worry, the lows will be below average in the inland south, above average out west, and just right everywhere else. Just another day in the unpredictable world of weather!

Tuesday, 24th September

Prepare yourselves for a smattering of showers on the east coast north of Bundaberg, with a side of isolated showers and patchy rain popping up in the far west, west of Thargomindah to Mount Isa. The rest of the region can expect mostly sunny skies, but be warned - warm and gusty northerly winds are bringing high fire dangers to parts of western and interior Queensland. Maximum temperatures will be above average, especially in inland southern Queensland, while minimum temperatures will hover around or above average, dipping slightly below average in the central and southeastern parts of the state.

Wednesday, 25th September

Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with a cloud band bringing patchy rain, scattered showers, and the chance of thunderstorms to western and southern Queensland. Showers and rain areas will be popping up here and there, especially in the far southwest. Don't be surprised if you hear a rumble of thunder! There will also be some isolated showers along the east coast and scattered showers up north near Coen. The rest of the region will be partly cloudy. Temperatures will be all over the place, with maximums well above average in the northwest and inland central and southern Queensland. Meanwhile, the far southwest will be feeling a bit cooler than usual. Make sure to grab a jacket if you're in that area! As for minimum temperatures, they will be near or above average, but watch out for the southwest where it will be well above average. Looks like we're in for a mixed bag of weather today!
