Big Picture – Monsoon pulse rebuilding Feb/Mar

After weakening in late January, the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is now reorganising and strengthening again. This is being helped by constructive interference from equatorial Rossby waves, which is a key driver of monsoon bursts across northern Australia.
