Australian Satellite Summary
A mid to upper level cloud cover over much of Queensland, except for the southwest, due to an upper trough and moist atmosphere. Thick cloud is also present along the tropical north Queensland coast from a fresh southeasterly flow. An upper trough from northern Western Australia to central New South Wales is causing mid-level cloud cover, while a cold front in far southwestern Western Australia is bringing cloud bands. Tropical convection is generating thick cloud in the Kimberley and Top End regions, with the rest of the country mostly clear. To identify features on the map, look for cloud patterns and their corresponding weather systems such as troughs, fronts, and tropical convection areas.
Satellite - Rain Accumulation - Storms
Rain typically refers to steady, continuous precipitation that lasts for a longer period, sometimes hours or even days. It can vary in intensity, but it's usually more consistent and widespread.
