National Synoptic Situation

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit dramatic this week, with a high in the Tasman Sea extending its reach over our state. This high will be casually drifting east over the next few days, lazily weakening the ridge as it goes. But hold on to your hats, because a trough and cloud band are planning to crash the party in the far west on Sunday. They'll stick around for a few days, causing a bit of a stir, before slowly making their way east across the state from Wednesday. So, if you find yourself caught in the midst of these stormy shenanigans or heatwaves, remember to stay safe and keep cool. Mother Nature might be putting on a show, but that doesn't mean we have to join in the chaos.

NSW and ACT:

Well, well, well, looks like we've got a high pressure system in the Tasman Sea showing off its ridge over NSW and the ACT. Don't worry, it's here to stay for a while, so get cozy with those settled conditions. But hold on to your hats, because there's a trough and cloud band brewing in the west and south, making its slow journey east throughout next week. Keep an eye out for any stormy surprises and remember to stay safe in the heatwave that might come your way.

VIC:

Well, it looks like Victoria is in for a rollercoaster of weather this weekend. A low pressure trough is just chillin' over central Victoria, taking its sweet time moving east. But don't worry, it's expected to clear out by Monday. Then, brace yourselves for some more fun as a broad region of low pressure swoops in on Tuesday and Wednesday. With cold fronts passing south of Tasmania, we could be in for some stormy times ahead. So, stay safe out there and keep an eye on the forecast.

SA:

Hold on to your hats, folks! A high pressure system is taking its sweet time moving eastwards from the Tasman Sea. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough over northeast SA is making its way southeast over western Victoria. This trough will keep moving eastwards and end up over the far northeast corner of SA by Sunday night. But wait, there's more! A new high pressure system will set up shop south of the Bight on Sunday, only to be followed by another trough sweeping in from the west early next week. It's like a stormy soap opera out there! So, as we brace ourselves for these weather shenanigans, remember to stay safe and prepared. Whether it's storms, heatwaves, or just the general unpredictability of Mother Nature, it's always better to be safe than sorry. Stay cool, stay dry, and stay safe out there!

WA:

Well, it appears we have some exciting weather patterns to discuss today. A trough is currently stretching from the inland Kimberley all the way to the west Pilbara coast. And if that wasn't enough, there's another trough hanging out in the Interior, but don't worry - it's planning to move northeast and weaken as the day goes on. So, stay safe out there and remember to keep an eye out for any storms or heatwaves that may be coming your way!

TAS:

Hold onto your hats, folks! We've got a weak trough making its way overhead today, followed by a ridge building over the south of the state. This ridge isn't going anywhere anytime soon - it's sticking around through Sunday and Monday. But don't get too comfortable, because on Tuesday we've got a sneaky low pressure system making its way over from the northern Bight. And just when you thought it was safe to go outside, another ridge starts creeping in on Wednesday. With all these weather shenanigans going on, it's important to stay safe and be prepared for anything that Mother Nature throws our way. So buckle up and hold tight, because it's going to be a bumpy ride with storms and heatwaves on the horizon. Stay safe out there, folks!

NT:

Well, it seems like the NT is in for a bit of a stormy stretch. Those scattered showers and thunderstorms up north are starting to make their way down south as a trough brings in some tropical humidity. This weekend, get ready for the trough to move across the southern and central districts, followed by another trough on Tuesday and Wednesday. Looks like we might be in for some heavy rainfall from those thunderstorms. So, while it may not be the most ideal weather for a picnic, it's always important to stay safe during these stormy times. Keep an eye on the forecasts and make sure you're prepared for any potential heatwaves or severe weather. Stay safe out there!

Sunday, 24th November

Watch out, folks! It's sizzling hot out there in interior northern, central and western Queensland, with a high risk of fires breaking out. So, unless you're a fan of toasty marshmallows, it's best to stay safe and avoid any unnecessary flames. Remember, when Mother Nature decides to crank up the heat, it's best to keep cool and out of harm's way.

Monday, 25th November

Ah, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west and a chance of severe thunderstorms in the southwestern corner of the state. Don't forget your umbrella or lightning rod! Over in Cape York Peninsula and the eastern districts, there's a chance of showers, but they should be more scattered in the southeast. So, if you're out and about, keep an eye out for any unexpected downpours. For those of you enjoying the sunshine elsewhere, make sure to stay hydrated and slap on some sunscreen. And if you happen to be in the northern Cape York Peninsula, be prepared for some severe heatwave conditions. Stay cool and safe, folks!

Tuesday, 26th November

Well, it seems like we've got a bit of a mixed bag weather-wise today. There's some scattered showers, thunderstorms, and patchy rain hanging out in the west near Longreach and Charleville. Don't be surprised if you see some severe thunderstorms causing a ruckus in the far west, with heavy rain possibly tagging along for the ride. Over in the east, there's some isolated showers making an appearance, but they're feeling a bit shy and very isolated down in the southeast. For the rest of us, it's looking mostly sunny and not too shabby. Now, let's talk temperatures. Looks like things are a tad warmer than usual down south and up in the Cape York Peninsula, while the rest of us are just cruising along at average temps. Oh, and speaking of Cape York Peninsula, it's getting hit with some severe heatwave conditions. So, stay safe out there and make sure to keep cool during this wild weather.

Wednesday, 27th November

Well, looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated to scattered showers making an appearance across the state. Don't be surprised if those showers decide to throw a party and become widespread at times, with a chance of a thunderstorm crashing in from the west. And oh boy, those thunderstorms in the west might just be feeling a bit extra and go severe, so watch out for some locally heavy rainfall. Temperatures are playing a little game of hide and seek, staying below average in the west and well below average in the far west. But don't worry, the east is feeling a bit fancy and is slightly above average. Meanwhile, over in the Cape York Peninsula, it's like a sauna with severe heatwave conditions - so make sure to stay cool and hydrated. So, while we can't control the mood swings of Mother Nature, we can definitely be prepared and stay safe during these storms and heatwaves. Stay safe out there, folks!
