Storms special report

Troughs spanning the tropics and eastern inland regions will bring showers, rain, and storms to the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia's east, Victoria's west, and Western Australia's north. A lingering trough in the west, gaining moisture, will trigger showers and storms while sustaining heat in western WA. QLD again looks like a pizza on the thunderstorm map. Still a gap near the Herbert and Lower Burdekin. But showers more likely now over the next few days. And the trough will eventually shift over the coast, probably by the 3rd or 4th of December.

Weather Warnings:

  • Sheep Graziers Warning for Lower Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula.

National

Tasman Sea's high brings humid air to Queensland. Moisture remains above average for a few days. Upper troughs enhance shower and thunderstorm activity in the state. Low pressure system moves through New South Wales, pushing a trough into southwestern Queensland. Trough may reach southeast Queensland later in the week and become slow-moving over southern and western parts.

State

A high over the Tasman Sea is bringing humid air into a trough over western Queensland.

This will continue for a few days, keeping moisture levels above average. Meanwhile, upper troughs will cause increased rain and thunderstorms across southern Australia, moving towards the east coast by Tuesday. A developing low pressure system will move across southern Australia into New South Wales, pushing a trough over southwestern Queensland. The trough may reach southeast Queensland by late Wednesday or Thursday and potentially linger over southern and western Queensland on Friday and next weekend.
