The winds are about to get a little more adventurous, turning into a humid, unstable northeasterly that's ready to drench SE QLD and northern NSW with some serious rain—flooding could be on the menu. Eastern VIC will see some lighter rain, as if the weather’s just gently tapping on the door. Over in TAS, a fading front is throwing a gusty party with showers. Meanwhile, WA's south is in for a brisk, showery wind fest thanks to a front and a low that decided to make a splash.

A high-pressure system in the Tasman Sea is playing weather matchmaker, sending showers and thunderstorms to Queensland and making its grand exit east on Thursday. Meanwhile, an upper trough is shaking things up in central and southeastern Queensland. By Wednesday, a surface trough near the Capricornia coast is getting busy with enhanced rainfall, winds, and seas. And just when you thought it was all over, another trough is set to waltz across Queensland on Saturday!
