National 4 Day Forecast
Windy.com NEW ACCESS 4 Day Accumulated Rain and Synoptic
Monday: Today, there'll be just a sprinkle of showers hanging around the North Tropical Coast. Down in the far southwest, there might be a few more showers hanging out with the slight possibility of a thunderstorm crashing the party. Wind-wise, we've got a mix of light to moderate breezes coming from the northeast to northwest, occasionally getting a bit fresh in the Channel Country. Later on, these winds will shift east to southeast along the coastal areas north of Bundaberg. So, keep an umbrella handy just in case Mother Nature decides to have a bit of a laugh.
Tuesday: Sun shining bright and bringing some warmth to most parts of the state, which is a bit unusual for this time of year. Expect a few showers hanging around the east coast above Townsville, and they might become more scattered near the Cassowary and Daintree coasts. In the southeast of Queensland, you might see some isolated showers and thunderstorms lurking about, especially further inland. Temperatures are soaring higher than usual, particularly in the southern interior below Townsville and in the southeast - everyone else is just feeling a little above average. Just another day of unpredictable weather down under!
Wednesday: Expect lots of sunshine and warmth across most of the state. There might be a few random showers hanging out around the east coast north of Rockhampton, spreading like confetti around the Cassowary and Daintree coasts. As for temperatures, they'll be soaring higher than a kangaroo on a trampoline in the interior south of Townsville and in the southeast. Everywhere else, they'll just be feeling a bit posh and above average.
Thursday: Expect some classic Aussie weather: sunshine and warmth throughout most of the state. But hey, don't forget your umbrella if you're up around the east coast north of Carmila, because there might be a few random showers popping up there. And for those inland south of Townsville and in the southeast, get ready to sizzle a bit with temperatures soaring above average. It's almost like the state is showing off its hot spots for the day!
State
Windy.com ACCESS (Values are rainfall over 3 hours)
So, a big sunny buddy over by New Zealand is sharing its good vibes with us, stretching a little arm over the state. This buddy and its arm are going to casually wander to the east over the next few days, no rush. Meanwhile, a chill trough from southwestern Queensland is moseying on over, bringing some nice warm winds from the north. The trough will saunter off to the ocean by Tuesday morning, but don't worry, a few more troughs are waiting in line to party down south next week, ensuring we'll still be sizzling for the foreseeable future.
Min - Max - Rain
Regional Round-Up
North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:
Partly cloudy skies will grace the day, but make sure to keep an eye out for a medium chance of showers hugging the coast while teasingly offering only a slight chance elsewhere. Don't be surprised by the winds, as they will be playfully blowing from the east to southeasterly at a speed of 20 to 30 km/h. Impressively versatile temperatures will take you on a rollercoaster ride, with overnight lows ranging between 12 and 19, before soaring to daytime highs of 23 to 29. Don't forget your umbrella and enjoy the whimsical weather dance!
Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
Partly cloudy with fog likely in the early morning, mainly for landlubbers to navigate. Coastal residents may dodge a light shower, but the rest can stay dry as a bone. Winds will start off as gentle zephyrs, transform into breezy eastward gusts, then calm down by nightfall. Overnight temperatures will dip to a cozy 13-17 degrees, while the day will warm up to a toasty 25-30, a weather menu to please every appetite.
Central Coast and Whitsundays:
Expect some clouds to play peekaboo in the sky, with a potential cameo by fog in the morning. A sprinkle of rain might try its luck near the coast, but elsewhere, it's a no-show. The wind plans to start the day with a gentle breeze, then show off its easterly moves at 15 to 25 km/h, before mellowing out by night. Temperatures will do the limbo dance, dipping down to 12-16°C overnight, then heating up to a high of 25-30°C during the day. Better pack your sunglasses and an umbrella, just in case Mother Nature decides to mix things up!
Peninsula:
Expect a mostly sunny day with a slight chance of showers along the east coast, but don't hold your breath anywhere else. Winds will channel their inner Usain Bolt, sprinting easterly at speeds of 25 to 35 km/h. Temperatures will hit the snooze button, plummeting to a range of 14 to 21 degrees overnight and then rising to a toasty 30 to 35 degrees during the day. Pack an umbrella just in case the east coast decides to do some impromptu rain dancing.
Gulf Country:
Sunny skies with a hint of whimsical windy behavior - starting off from the east to northeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, making a smooth transition to southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the morning. By early afternoon, the winds decide to switch things up again, going northeast to southeasterly, perhaps feeling a bit indecisive. Overnight, temperatures will cool down to a cozy 15 to 18 degrees, providing a refreshing break from the daytime heat where mercury will dance in the low to mid 30s, maybe showing off a bit too much. No rain in sight, just bright skies and a touch of playful breeziness to keep things interesting.
Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:
Prepare for a sunny day with a side of fog in the southeast - like breakfast with a twist; winds will be blowing from the east to northeasterly at 20 to 30 km/h, giving your hair a natural windblown look; temperatures will range from a cool 12 to 15 overnight, escalating to a scorching 29 to 35 during the day - a weather rollercoaster you can't miss!
Capricornia:
Patchy morning fog sets the stage for a dramatic entrance to a sunny afternoon, as if the weather itself is a diva. Light winds add a touch of whimsical charm to the day, making it ideal for a leisurely stroll. Overnight, temperatures promise a gentle descent to a cozy range between 11 and 15, inviting you to snuggle up. Daytime temperatures are poised to soar to a balmy 26 to 31, ensuring you'll need to stay cool and hydrated.
Central Highlands and Coalfields:
Early morning fog might make you feel like you're in a mystery novel, but fear not - a sunny day is in store with light winds that gradually turn into a gentle east to northeasterly breeze during the day and go back to being light by the evening, ensuring your hat doesn't blow away. Overnight, temperatures will cool down to a comfortable 12 degrees, while daytime temperatures soar to a balmy 30 degrees, prompting you to ditch the layers and soak up the sun.
Central West:
Expect a day as sunny as a smile, with light winds from the east to northeasterly making a graceful exit by evening, leaving gentle breezes behind. Overnight, snuggle up as temperatures dip to a cozy 12-15°C. While you dream of sunshine, brace yourself for daytime temperatures hitting the low to mid 30s – it's going to be a scorcher! Remember your sunscreen and stay hydrated to weather the heat wave.
North West:
Another typical day in paradise with a forecast of sunny skies. Expect light winds in the early morning, gradually shifting to east to northeasterly at 15-20 km/h, and then southeasterly at 15-25 km/h by mid-morning. Overnight, temperatures will dip between 13-17°C, while daytime will sizzle in the mid to high 30s. Don't forget your sunscreen!
Channel Country:
Sunny with a southeasterly breeze blowing in at 25 to 40 km/h, bringing the joy of a cooling wind-chill factor; expect night temperatures to drop between 15 and 18 degrees, setting the stage for prime snuggling conditions, while daytime highs will soar to a toasty 27 to 34 degrees, making sunscreen your new best friend.
Maranoa and Warrego:
Expect a changeable day - morning breezes will play musical chairs, starting as north to northwesterly, switching to southeast to southwesterly, and ending as light winds in the afternoon. Thermometer preferences vary widely, with overnight lows cuddling between 13 and 17, while daylight highs confidently strut between 28 and 33. Remember to bring an umbrella - not for rain, but to shield yourself from the unpredictable winds' whims!
Darling Downs and Granite Belt:
Expect clear skies today with a possibility of dramatic lightning and booming thunder in the late morning, specifically in the eastern region. Winds will showcase a fancy dance routine, starting off as north to northwesterly at 15 to 20 km/h before transitioning to northwest to southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h midday, then ending the day on a light note. Temperatures will cool down overnight to a breezy range of 12 to 17, while daytime highs will aim for a balmy 30.
Wide Bay and Burnett:
Expect patches of fog in the morning but don't worry, the sun will come out to play later on. Winds will be gentle, keeping things calm. Plan for cooler nights, with temperatures dipping to around 11-14 degrees, while the daytime will reach a pleasant 30 degrees. Keep your umbrella handy just in case, and enjoy the mix of weather patterns!
Southeast Coast:
Expect a day of mixed emotions, with morning fog clearing to reveal mostly sunny skies, only to potentially face a thunderstorm later on. Winds will play a variable role, starting light and shifting to west to northwesterly before calming down in the evening. Temperatures will dip to a comfy 13-16°C at night and soar to a toasty 28-33°C during the day. Keep your umbrella and sunglasses handy, just in case the weather can't make up its mind!
