Showers may become widespread at times, with areas of rain in the southern and southeastern interior west of Goondiwindi. Showers may also become widespread along the South East coast. Winds are light to moderate, mainly from the northeast to southeasterly direction, and fresher towards the eastern Peninsula coast, while in the far southwest they tend south to southwesterly.
Wednesday: Isolated showers in eastern and inland central/southern Queensland, becoming scattered in southeast. Chance of thunderstorms near coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Below average daytime temperatures in southwest, near/above average elsewhere. Overnight temperatures near/above average overall.
Thursday: Partly cloudy with scattered showers in some areas, mostly sunny elsewhere. Chance of fog in the east. Average temperatures during the day, slightly below average at night in the west.

A high over the Tasman Sea weakens, with a trough moving over the southern interior and southeast Queensland on Tuesday, then off the east coast. A new high will bring cooler conditions afterward, with another trough expected later in the week.
