National

A high weak ridge will remain over the east of the state for the next few days. A weak trough in the far southwest will continue moving across the southern interior during the remainder of the weekend, reaching the southeast on Monday. Northerly winds ahead of the trough will sustain unseasonably warm temperatures across much of the state until early next week. The trough is likely to move offshore on Monday night, with a new high moving extending a firm ridge across much of the state in its wake, and milder onshore southeasterly winds returning throughout eastern Queensland. Warmer northerly winds are expected to return to the interior later next week ahead of the next trough which is due to move into the southwest next weekend.

Get ready for a rollercoaster of weather today, folks! We've got sunshine for most of the state, but don't be surprised if you spot a random shower along the east coast. And watch out for some patchy morning fog - it's like nature's way of saying "good morning" in a mysterious way. Winds will be doing their own little dance today, starting off from the northwest and then switching it up to the northeast in some areas. It's like they can't make up their minds, typical. Temperatures are going to be all over the place, with the interior south and southeast feeling the heat. The rest of us will just have to settle for above average temperatures - guess we can't all be winners

Forecast for Monday 2 September

Looks like Mother Nature is playing favorites again, with sunny skies dominating most of the state while a few isolated showers decide to crash the party on the east coast. And don't forget about the patchy morning fog, because apparently, someone thought it would be funny to add a little mystery to the morning commute from Cairns to Gladstone. Oh, and let's not overlook the fresh and gusty winds in southeast Queensland - a little extra excitement to keep things interesting. And did I mention the temperatures? Well, they're definitely above average in the interior south of Townsville and in the southeast. Everywhere else gets to enjoy temperatures that are just slightly better than average. Lucky them. And watch out for those scattered showers getting cozy on the North Tropical Coast - they just can't seem to make up their minds. Don't let the fresh and gusty southeasterly winds ruin your hairdo, they might also bring some elevated fire dangers to the interior and west of the state. Temperatures will be above average in the interior, but slightly below average in the southeast and southwest - just to keep us on our toes. Stay safe out there, folks!

Forecast for Wednesday 4 September

Get ready for a mixed bag of weather today, folks! We've got some sunshine in most areas, but don't get too comfortable because there are also some pesky isolated showers lurking around the east coast and nearby inland. And watch out for those showers up north near Carmila, they're feeling a bit rebellious and might become scattered or even widespread. Oh, and don't forget about those fresh and gusty northeasterly winds causing some potential fire hazards in the interior and western parts of the state. So, you know, be careful out there! Temperatures are playing games with us too - above average in the west and south, but slightly below average in the east. Mother Nature sure knows how to keep us on our
