National Synoptic Situation
Synoptic Situation for
QLD:
Well, it seems like we've got a bit of a weather situation happening in Queensland. A ridge is flexing its muscles along the east coast, while an upper trough is meandering its way through the southern interior. This combination is like a stormy tango, with onshore winds from the ridge joining forces with the trough to bring some serious rainfall to the tropical east coast. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, there's a coastal trough hanging out around the Central Coast today. It's like a party you didn't even know you were invited to! But wait, there's more - a slow moving trough is gearing up to make an entrance in western Queensland early next week. It's like the weather just can't make up its mind. So, while all this weather drama unfolds, remember to stay safe out there. Storms and heatwaves can be unpredictable, so it's important to be prepared and take precautions. And who knows, maybe Mother Nature will throw in a few surprises along the way. Stay safe, Queenslanders!
NSW and ACT:
Well, looks like Mother Nature is feeling generous with that high pressure system extending a ridge over NSW and the ACT. Don't get too comfortable though, as that high will be making its way to the Tasman Sea, keeping things settled for now. Keep an eye out for a trough and cloud band system creeping into the far southwest on Sunday, slowly making its way east over the next few days. So, folks, stay safe out there and don't let any storms or heatwaves catch you off guard!
VIC:
Well, it seems like the southern Tasman Sea is playing host to a high pressure system, causing warm northerly winds to blow across Victoria. This trend is set to carry on until Friday, when a low pressure trough will make its way across the Bight. By Saturday afternoon, this trough is expected to hit western Victoria before creeping into central districts come nightfall. Sunday will see the trough loitering around, refusing to budge, before finally shuffling over to eastern Victoria on Monday. So, be sure to stay safe as these stormy shenanigans unfold and keep an eye out for any heatwaves that may come your way.
SA:
Well, it seems like our friend High Pressure is just hanging out over the Tasman Sea, while Low Pressure is taking a leisurely stroll from the far west to the far northeast corner by Sunday night. Meanwhile, a new High is coming in to join the party south of the Bight on Sunday. With all this movement in the atmosphere, we might see some stormy weather or even a heatwave in the coming days. So, remember to stay safe and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.
WA:
Well, isn't that just fantastic? We've got a lovely little low pressure system hanging out over the Pilbara, Kimberley, and North Interior. And what's that I see? Oh yes, more storms and heatwaves on the horizon. How thrilling. Just a friendly reminder to stay safe out there, folks.
TAS:
Well, looks like we've got a high chillin' out in the Tasman Sea, bringing us some warm northerly winds. It's gonna stick around till Saturday, when a weak trough swings by and switches things up to a westerly flow. But don't get too comfortable, 'cause on Sunday that flow weakens as a high kicks it in the Bight. And just when you thought it was safe to go outside, a cold front is creeping in from the west on Monday. So, stay safe out there and watch out for any storms or heatwaves heading our way!
NT:
Hold onto your hats, folks, because we've got some stormy weather headed our way in the north of the NT. Humid easterly winds will be causing scattered showers and thunderstorms, so make sure to stay safe and dry. Meanwhile, in the southern NT, dry northeast to southeasterly winds will be blowing until a trough swoops in from the west at the end of the week. This means more showers and thunderstorms on the horizon, so batten down the hatches and stay cool in the heatwave. Remember, safety first when dealing with Mother Nature's temper tantrums!
