Queensland Synoptic
Southern Queensland has a weakening ridge causing weak pressure gradients, while Tropical Cyclone Alfred is stirring up winds and waves along the central and southern east coast, but thankfully it's staying offshore for now and might drift towards the southeast coast next week. Meanwhile, a trough in the southwest will be hanging around the interior for a while.
Forecast for Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
Get ready to break out the sunscreen and crank up the AC, because we've got a scorcher on our hands! Overnight, it'll cool down to a somewhat bearable 19-23 degrees, but once the sun comes up, we're looking at temperatures in the mid to high 30s. So, stay hydrated and maybe invest in a good portable fan - it's gonna be a hot one!

Monsoon Special:
The next monsoon pulse due in Phase 6 (Gulf to Coral Sea) around the 26th March to 2nd April. Due to the 3rd pulse normally being weak, it tends to come around quicker so could be a week earlier.
Severe Tropical Cyclone Alfred is st ill expected to cross, and for those down South you should use today to prepare, even if nothing happens you have today to prepare.
There is variation in timing, intensity and location, but that is to be expected as it is still just outside the 4 day reliability period for forecasting which i spoke about a few years back in the blog i repeat shared yesterday.
More details once the forecasts update later today.
