Tropical Cyclone Alfred is taking a leisurely stroll across Moreton Bay, making a pit stop on the mainland coast before deciding to head further inland and fizzle out by next week; Meanwhile, a feeble trough will be idling in the western and central interior for a while, while a ridge decides to flex its muscles along the east coast, bringing some much-needed moisture to eastern and northern Queensland.
