Storms - Extreme Weather - Fire danger

State

High over Great Australian Bight extends ridge over state. Southeasterly wind surge moves north along east coast from Friday. High moves east, strengthening ridge, reaching Tasman Sea on Saturday. Weak trough moves into western Queensland Monday, crossing southeast coast late Tuesday. New high in Southern Ocean extends new ridge over state after trough.

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

The weather forecast is for partly cloudy skies with a medium chance of showers near the coast and a slight chance elsewhere, with east to southeasterly winds at 15 to 25 km/h. Overnight temperatures will drop to between 15 and 21 degrees, while daytime temperatures will reach 23 to 29 degrees.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

The weather will be partly cloudy with a high of 30°C and a low of 15-20°C, light winds becoming easterly at 15-20 km/h, a slight chance of showers in the north, near-zero chance elsewhere, and overnight temperatures between 15-20°C.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

The weather will be partly cloudy with maximum temperature around 30, minimum temperature between 15 and 19, wind speeds increasing from south to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h to 15 to 25 km/h east to southeasterly, and no rainfall expected.

Peninsula:

Mostly sunny with daytime temperatures in the low to mid 30s, overnight temperatures between 19 and 23, light winds becoming east to southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h, and no rainfall expected.

Gulf Country:

Max temperature in the low 30s, min temperature around 20, winds southeasterly 25 to 35 km/h becoming light in the evening, no rainfall, and sunny throughout the day with overnight temperatures falling to around 20.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

The maximum temperature will reach around 30 with overnight temperatures falling to between 14 and 18. Wind speed will increase from southeasterly 15-25 km/h to easterly 15-20 km/h with a maximum of 30 km/h, while experiencing partly cloudy conditions with a chance of rainfall.

Capricornia:

The weather will be partly cloudy with light winds in the evening becoming east to southeasterly at 15-20 km/h, with overnight temperatures dropping to 12-18°C and daytime temperatures in the mid to high 20s, and there is a chance of rainfall, wind speeds unknown.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

The weather will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from 10 to 31 degrees, light winds becoming southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, and overnight temperatures falling to between 10 and 17.

Central West:

The weather will be mostly sunny with daytime temperatures ranging from 26 to 31, overnight temperatures between 11 and 16, southeasterly winds at 15 to 20 km/h increasing to 20 to 30 km/h in the morning, and no rainfall expected.

North West:

Maximum temperature of around 30°C, minimum temperature between 13-18°C, wind speed 25-35 km/h from the south to southeasterly, with sunny conditions and overnight-into-daytime temperature fluctuations.

Channel Country:

Max temperature: high 20s, Min temperature: around 12, Wind speed: 25 to 35 km/h, Wind direction: southeasterly, Rainfall: N/A, Other: Sunny.

Maranoa and Warrego:

The weather forecast includes daytime temperatures in the low to mid 20s with light winds becoming southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, followed by calm winds in the evening, and overnight temperatures dropping to around 9 with a 'Sunny' condition and no mention of rainfall.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

The weather is expected to be mostly sunny with light winds becoming northeasterly to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning, then becoming light in the middle of the day, with overnight temperatures dropping to between 9 and 12 degrees and daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

Max temperature: Low to mid 20s, Min temperature: 12-17, Wind speed: 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: S to SE, Rainfall: Showers, Weather: Partly cloudy

Southeast Coast:

The weather for today includes a maximum temperature in the low to mid 20s, minimum temperature between 13 and 17, southerly winds increasing to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h, medium chance of showers along the coastal fringe, slight chance elsewhere, and partly cloudy skies with overnight temperatures falling.
