In humid and unstable air, showers and occasional storms are expected across the NT's Top End, the far north of QLD, and the southwest of WA. Meanwhile, high pressure systems will drive showers across NSW, eastern QLD, western Tasmania, and southern WA, with the heaviest rainfall anticipated along the coastal regions of NSW, while other areas remain dry.

  • Monday: Scattered showers in the east and Torres Strait, becoming more widespread along the North Tropical Coast, Whitsundays, and South East Coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Moderate easterly to southeasterly winds, occasionally fresh along the east coast north of Mackay.

  • Tuesday: Patchy showers mainly in the east and Torres Strait, with some storms possible. Limited showers in southern areas. Partly cloudy elsewhere with possible morning fog. Temperatures around normal levels.

  • Wednesday: Scattered showers in the east, chance of thunderstorm in Torres Strait. Some showers south inland, partly cloudy elsewhere. Temperatures near average.

  • Thursday: Eastern districts, the Peninsula, and Torres Strait: Isolated showers. Chance of thunderstorm in Torres Strait. Scattered showers in Cassowary Coast, eastern Peninsula, and South East Coast. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the southern interior. Partly cloudy elsewhere. High pressure over Tasman Sea, ridge over state brings settled conditions except for coastal showers. Weak trough in western Queensland deepens, moves east to interior, then becomes slow-moving. Strong high south of Great Australian Bight strengthens, extends ridge and southeasterly wind surge across Queensland from Wednesday.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Max temperature: 31°C, Min temperature: 16°C, Wind speed: 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: SE to E, Rainfall: Slight chance in north, cloudy with southeasterly winds.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

The weather forecast for tomorrow is partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower, southeasterly winds at 20 to 30 km/h, overnight temperatures between 16 and 20, and daytime temperatures reaching 25 to 30.

Peninsula:

Max temperature: low 30s, Min temperature: low to mid 20s, Wind speed: 25 to 35 km/h, Wind direction: east to southeasterly, Rainfall: slight chance of a shower near the east coast, Partly cloudy.

Gulf Country:

Overall, mostly sunny conditions with light winds in the morning becoming easterly to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, then calming down in the evening. Expect overnight temperatures in the low 20s and daytime highs in the low 30s, with no rainfall expected.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Mostly sunny with daytime temperatures reaching around 30, overnight temperatures falling to between 15 and 19, winds easterly 20 to 30 km/h, no rainfall.

Capricornia:

Max temperature: mid to high 20s, Min temperature: 13-18, Wind speed: Light winds becoming east to southeasterly 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: East to southeasterly, Rainfall: Slight chance of a shower in the north, near zero chance elsewhere, Other: Partly cloudy.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

Expected weather for the day includes a maximum temperature of around 30°C, minimum temperature dropping to 12-16°C overnight, light winds which will become easterly to southeasterly at 15-25 km/h in the morning and then become light by the evening, along with mostly sunny conditions and no rainfall.

Central West:

The weather forecast includes a max temperature of around 30°C, a min temperature between 14-19°C, wind speed increasing from 15-20 km/h to 20-30 km/h throughout the day, shifting from easterly to east-southeasterly, and the possibility of partly cloudy conditions.

North West:

Maximum temperature: low 30s, Minimum temperature: 17-20, Wind speed: east to southeasterly 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: changing from light to east to southeasterly, Rainfall: none, Other: Partly cloudy.

Channel Country:

The weather will be mostly sunny with temperatures dropping overnight to 14-19°C and daytime highs in the low 30s, with light winds in the morning becoming stronger southeasterly to southwesterly in the day.

Wide Bay and Burnett:
