High pressure system near NSW north coast drifting northeast, extends ridge across state. Ridge weakens today, trough moves across southern Queensland. Warm, dry conditions forecast for weekend. Another trough expected to cross southern Queensland early next week.
State
As a high pressure system moves northeast, it creates a ridge over New South Wales. This ridge will weaken over the next couple of days due to a trough in southern Queensland. Warm and dry weather is expected over the weekend, followed by another trough crossing southern Queensland early next week.

Friday: Partly cloudy and showers in the North Tropical Coast. Dry and sunny in other areas. Possibility of morning frost in parts of the Darling Downs. Above average maximum temperatures in the south, slightly below average elsewhere. Minimum temperatures are near average.
Saturday: Saturday will be dry and mostly sunny, with a chance of a few showers along the coastal areas north of Ingham. There might be morning frost in some parts of the Darling Downs, and patchy fog along the ranges. Maximum temperatures will be above average in the southern half and slightly below average north of Ingham. Minimum temperatures will be a little below average in the southeast inland and slightly below average elsewhere.
Sunday: Sunny with a chance of coastal showers. Frost is possible in Darling Downs. Morning fog is possible inland. Above average temperatures in the south.
Monday: Mostly warm, dry, and sunny with a chance of showers on the northeast coast on Monday. A shower is possible in the southeast on Wednesday. Morning frost is possible on the Darling Downs on Monday. Above-average maximum temperatures in the south, especially in the southern interior on Monday and Tuesday. Minimum temperatures were slightly above average in the southwest on Monday, spreading to the southern half on Tuesday, and near average elsewhere.
