High pressure system drifts northeast, extends ridge across Queensland. Ridge weakens as trough moves south. Warm, dry weekend followed by crossing trough.
State
High pressure near southeastern Queensland will move northeast, creating a ridge. The ridge weakens as a trough moves across southern Queensland. Warm and dry conditions are expected ahead of another trough next week.

Saturday: Dry with mostly sunny skies, potential showers along east coast, possible frost and fog, above average maximum temperatures in south, slightly below average in north, minimum temperatures slightly above average in southeast inland, slightly below average elsewhere.
Sunday: Sunday will be mostly dry and sunny, with a slight chance of a shower on the east coast. There could be morning frost in parts of the Darling Downs and morning fog in the northeast inland. Maximum temperatures will be above average in the south, especially in the southwest, and near average in other areas. Minimum temperatures will be slightly above average in the southwest, slightly below average in the Darling Downs, and near average elsewhere.
