Offshore Queensland, a drifting high pressure system brings weakening ridge, warm and dry conditions expected on weekend. A trough crosses southern Queensland on Sunday, followed by a stronger trough and westerly winds on Tuesday.

Offshore southern Queensland, a high pressure system is drifting northeast with a weakening ridge. Warm and dry weather is expected over the weekend before a trough passes through on Sunday. Then, on Tuesday, a stronger trough and westerly wind burst will move across southern Queensland.

Sunday: Dry and sunny, slight chance of east coast shower north of Ingham, possible morning fog inland northeast. Above average maximum temperatures in south, near average elsewhere. Slightly above average minimum temperatures in south, near average elsewhere.
Monday: Mostly dry and sunny with a small chance of showers in the east. Fog possible in some areas. Temperatures above average in the south and central regions, and near average elsewhere. Higher fire risk in Darling Downs and Granite Belt.
Tuesday: Dry, warm and mostly sunny with a chance of afternoon showers in the southeast and far southern interior. Morning fog possible in the northeast inland. Gusty westerly winds possible in the southeast. Temperatures well above average with average temperatures in the Far North.
Wednesday: Dry and sunny overall. Chance of showers in southeast Queensland on Wednesday, primarily near the coast. Showers may extend to the southern interior on Thursday. Temperatures mostly above average, except in the Peninsula. Temperature trending closer to average starting from Thursday.
