National

Coral Sea high keeps ridge over Queensland for few days, bringing warm and sunny weather. Trough passes early next week with stronger dry winds. New high follows trough, bringing wind change. Another trough likely by Thursday with strong winds.

State

A high over the Coral Sea will bring warm and sunny weather to most of Queensland for the next few days. A trough will move across southern Queensland early next week, bringing slightly stronger and dry, westerly winds. After the trough, a new high will bring a southeasterly wind change to southeast Queensland. Another trough is expected to bring stronger westerly winds to the southeast on Friday.


4-day

  • Monday: Dry and mostly sunny, with a small chance of a shower in the eastern Peninsula. Possible morning fog in inland northeast. Temperatures above average in the south, near average in the north. Minimum temperatures above average in the southwest, below average in the north, and near average elsewhere. High fire danger in the Darling Downs and Granite Belt.

  • Tuesday: Dry, warm, mostly sunny. Possible showers SE, southern interior. Morning fog NE. Gusty westerly winds SE. Above average max temps central and SE, near average elsewhere. Above average min temps south, below average north. High fire danger in south, SE.

  • Wednesday: Wednesday: Mostly dry and sunny with a few showers along the southern Queensland coast. Temps near average in the southeast, above average elsewhere. Minimum temps below average in the north and southern inland, above average elsewhere.

  • Thursday: Dry and mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers in the southeast. There may be morning frost in the southern interior. A fresh, gusty wind change is expected to move across the interior and southeast from Friday into Saturday. Temperatures will be above average on Thursday and Friday but cooler air will spread from the south by Saturday.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin
