National

High over Coral Sea maintains weak ridge in Queensland for sunny weather. Trough brings strong winds. New high brings wind change. Another trough likely with strong winds and dry air.

State

A high in the Coral Sea will bring warm and sunny weather to most of Queensland, with a trough causing slightly stronger winds in the south. A new high will bring a wind change to southeast Queensland. Another trough may bring stronger winds and drier air to the southeast and north Queensland.


4-day

  • Tuesday: Partly cloudy in the south, chance of afternoon shower or thunderstorm in the southeast. Dry, warm, and mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning fog possible in northeast inland. Moderate southwesterly winds in the southeast, later changing to southerly. Max temperatures near average in north, above average elsewhere. Min temperatures above average in south, below average in north. High fire danger in southeast.

  • Wednesday: Dry and mostly sunny with some showers along the southern Queensland coast. Morning frost in the southern interior. Temperatures near or above average with some areas experiencing well above average temperatures. Minimum temperatures below average in the north and southern inland, above average elsewhere.

  • Thursday: Thursday will be mostly sunny with a few showers in southern and southeast Queensland, and morning frost in the southern interior. Temperatures will be above average, especially in the central west, and minimum temperatures will be below average in the north. Moderate northwesterly winds will be followed by a southwesterly wind change. High fire danger is expected in central and southern interior districts.

  • Friday: Dry and mostly sunny, but a few showers will clear the southeast on Friday. Morning frost in the south. Windy in the southeast on Friday and Saturday. Above average temperatures on Friday, but cooler over the weekend. High fire danger in central, southern, and southeast Queensland.
