High in Tasman Sea extends ridge over most of state. High moves east, weakening from tomorrow. Weak trough lingers in southern Queensland. Trough strengthens Wednesday, moves east across southern and central Queensland. Trough weakens, pushes offshore Friday. Possible low in eastern Coral Sea later in week. High crosses Great Australian Bight, extends new ridge over state. High may reach Tasman Sea Saturday, maintaining ridge.

Thursday: Thursday: Some rain and thunderstorms in south and central areas near Emerald. Sunny elsewhere. Morning fog in eastern areas from Ingham to Kingaroy. Above average highs, near average lows north of Longreach, above average elsewhere.
Friday: On Sunday, there will be some showers in eastern districts south of Mackay, extending to eastern districts south of Cooktown. It will be mostly sunny in other areas. Maximum temperatures will be near average, with the far west being a bit cooler on Friday and the southern interior and southwest being slightly warmer on Sunday. Minimum temperatures will be near average in the south of Charleville, cooler in other areas, and much cooler in the west.
