The Tasman Sea high moves over the state, weakening. Southeast trough holds unstable conditions. Western QLD trough strengthens, moves east, then moves offshore. Stable conditions follow. A new high crosses the Australian Bight, extending a ridge and lasting into next week.

A Tasman Sea high will weaken and move east, while a southeast upper trough will bring unstable conditions. A surface trough will strengthen and move across Queensland, pushing offshore with stable conditions behind. A high will cross the Great Australian Bight, bringing a new state ridge and persisting into next week.

Wednesday: Isolated showers with a chance of thunderstorms in south and central districts east of Longreach and south of Mackay. Scattered showers in southeastern Queensland. Possibly severe thunderstorms in southeastern Queensland, mainly inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning fog in eastern and central districts south of Cardwell. Above average maximum temperatures, particularly well above average in the southern interior and southwest. Above average minimum temperatures in the southern interior and southwest, near average elsewhere.
Thursday: Thursday's forecast for southeastern Queensland south of Gladstone includes scattered showers and a possibility of a thunderstorm, while the rest of the region will be sunny. Morning fog can be expected in eastern districts between Ingham and Kingaroy. Maximum temperatures will be above average, with minimum temperatures near average north of Longreach and above average elsewhere.
Friday: Isolated showers in Southeast Queensland, sunny elsewhere. Above average maximum temperatures in the east, near average elsewhere. Minimum temperatures near average in the southeast, slightly below average elsewhere.
Saturday: Partly isolated showers along the coast, sunny elsewhere. Above average maximum temperatures and below average minimum temperatures.
