National

High pressure system extends ridge over Tasman Sea, southeasterly wind surge along central QLD coast. Ridge weakens, trough enters southwest QLD and moves across state.

State

High pressure system over western Tasman Sea extends ridge across Queensland, with southeasterly wind surge moving north along central coast. Ridge weakens late in week as high moves east. Trough enters southwest Queensland on Saturday, moves across state over weekend and early next week.

  • Friday: Friday: Partly cloudy with coastal showers in the east, scattered in the North Tropical Coast. Morning fog inland in southeast. Mostly sunny with light frost in Granite Belt. Minimum temperatures above average. Maximum temperatures above average in southwest, near average elsewhere.

  • Saturday: Partly cloudy with some showers in the east, foggy in the southeast. Sunny elsewhere with frost in the Granite Belt. Above average minimum temperatures, especially in the far west. Above average maximum temperatures in the southwest, average elsewhere.

  • Sunday: Partly cloudy with coastal showers in the east. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Above average minimum and maximum temperatures, with the southern interior being warmer.

  • Monday: Partly cloudy with isolated coastal showers in the east until Wednesday. Mostly sunny with light frosts in the morning. Temperature fluctuations, with above average minimums and decreasing maximums.
