National

The upper trough remains, causing unstable conditions for 2 days. Surface trough strengthens over Queensland, moves east by Thursday, followed by stability. High pressure moves over the Great Australian Bight, creating a ridge in the state, lasting until early next week.

State

Unstable conditions will persist in the southeast for two days due to an upper trough. A surface trough will strengthen in interior Queensland and move across the eastern districts before moving offshore, bringing stable conditions. A high pressure system will move across the Great Australian Bight, creating a ridge in the state that will last into early next week.

  • Thursday: Southeast Queensland may have showers, thunderstorms, and severe thunderstorms. Elsewhere will be sunny with morning fog in some areas. Temperatures will be above average with high fire dangers in the southeastern interior.

  • Friday: Isolated showers in Southeast Queensland. Sunny elsewhere. Above average maximum temperatures in the east, near average elsewhere. Near average minimum temperatures in the southeast, slight below average elsewhere.

  • Saturday: Isolated showers near the coast. Sunny elsewhere. Above average highs, below average lows.

  • Sunday: There will be scattered showers and a possibility of a thunderstorm in central and southern districts. Showers will move to southeastern Queensland and North Tropical Coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Temperatures will be above average, especially in central and southern interior districts. Minimum temperatures will be near or below average, but higher in central and southern districts.
