High pressure system over Tasman Sea extends ridge across Queensland, bringing showers with winds. Ridge weakens as trough and cold front move through southern states, then new high rebuilds ridge.

Strong ridge bringing showers from southeast; ridge weakens with trough and cold front; new high rebuilds ridge.

  • Saturday: Saturday will have partly cloudy weather with some isolated showers along the coast. Other areas will be mostly sunny, with a chance of light morning frost in the Granite Belt. Inland areas in the southeast may experience patchy morning fog. Minimum temperatures will be above average, particularly in the far west, while maximum temperatures will be above average in the southwest and near average elsewhere.

  • Sunday: Partly cloudy with coastal showers eastward, scattered on Cassowary Coast and K'gari. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Above-average minimum and maximum temperatures in southern interior, near average elsewhere.

  • Monday: Partly cloudy with isolated east coast showers, becoming scattered on the Cassowary Coast and K'gari. Mostly sunny elsewhere with light morning frost returning to the Granite Belt starting Tuesday. Minimum temperatures above average, decreasing below average in the southeast inland by Wednesday. Maximum temperatures above average in the southern interior, near average elsewhere.

  • Tuesday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers on the east coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere with light morning frost in Granite Belt. Average minimum temperatures, above average maximum temperatures inland.

Max 27°C. AM shower or 2. Chance of rain: 50%. Partly cloudy. Med. chance of early morning showers. Winds E to SE 25-35 km/h, becoming light in the evening.


Herbert and Lower Burdekin
