High pressure system in southeast Australia moves eastwards, reaches Tasman Sea today, maintains ridge. Ridge weakens as trough passes Queensland. Warm, dry conditions forecasted this weekend. Another trough expected next week in southern Queensland.

High pressure system over southeastern Australia moving east, reaching Tasman Sea today. Firm ridge across state weakens tomorrow and Friday due to trough in southern Queensland. Warm and dry conditions forecast for weekend, followed by another trough crossing southern Queensland early next week.


4-day

  • Thursday: Few showers in the Tropical North Coast, a possibility of showers elsewhere on the northeast coast. Dry and sunny everywhere else. Chance of morning frost and fog in southeastern Queensland, mostly around the ranges. Variable winds in the north and east, becoming southwesterly in the southwest. Temperatures above average in the southwest, below average in the east. Minimum temperatures slightly below average in the southeast and central west, near average elsewhere.

  • Friday: Few showers on Tropical North Coast. Dry and sunny elsewhere. Chance of morning frost in southeast inland. Moderate westerly winds in southeast. Maximum temperatures above average in south, slightly below average elsewhere. Minimum temperatures near average.

  • Saturday: Mostly sunny but chance of showers on northeast coast. Morning frost possible in south. Some fog possible along the ranges. Warmer in south, cooler in north.

  • Sunday: Mostly warm, dry, and sunny, with a slight chance of showers on the northeast coast. Morning frost possible in the southern inland. Above-average maximum temperatures in the south, especially in the southern interior. Minimum temperatures slightly above average in the southwest and spreading to the southern half, otherwise near average.
