Special report
Christmas:
Continuing to look ahead to Christmas day, the High South of the Great Australian Bight and low pressure trough reaching from the NT through to Victoria will keep winds up and produce storms mainly through QLD and NSW. Heavier rain across the SEQ due to the trough being close to the coast, the angle of the trough bending around the Central Highlands to Mount Isa. There is the chance of storms and showers to rain for the Northern Goldfields and the Burdekin for Christmas night.
