Special report
Monsoon:
Severe Tropical Cyclone 03P (Jasper) is currently a Category 3 system about 187 nautical miles west-southwest of Honiara, Solomon Islands. Over the past six hours, it has been moving in a south-southwestward direction at a speed of 03 knots. The minimum central pressure is 978 MB, and the maximum significant wave height is 29 feet. The slow movement could allow the new High to guide the cyclone. That means it could move up or down depending on how quickly the new High moves into place and how fast Jasper moves.
Storms:
Troughs will bring showers and storms to WA, the NT, NSW, and SA. Hot winds will be directed across the interior and east of Australia. A dry airmass will result in hot and mostly clear conditions for most areas. Tasmania may experience some cloudiness due to cool winds.
Weather warnings:
Gale Warning for Spencer Gulf and Strong Wind Warnings for various coastal regions.
Fire Weather Warnings are issued for Ashburton Coast, Mortlock, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, and Riverland.
Heatwave Warnings are in effect for multiple regions across Australia.
Flood warnings include Minor Flood Warnings for the Paroo River (Qld), Barcoo River, Latrobe River, Paroo River (NSW), and Moderate Flood Warning for the Thomson River.
Final Flood Warnings are issued for the Snowy River, Lower Weir River, and Moonie River.

State
A slow-moving high in the Tasman Sea is causing a ridge in the east of the state, while a weak trough persists in the far west. The ridge will continue for most of the week, but a new trough may move across southern Queensland over the weekend. Severe Tropical Cyclone Jasper in the northeastern Coral Sea is expected to develop and head towards the central Coral Sea later this week. Jasper is likely to move towards the Queensland coast early next week, with the highest risk of impact being north of Mackay. However, the timing and severity of the impact remain uncertain.
