Troughs and lows will continue to generate showers and storms across WA's east, SA, the NT, QLD, and northeast NSW. Troughs and lows will also maintain humidity in the east and heat in the interior and north. Onshore winds around high pressure will bring showers along south coastal WA.

A trough will stay in western Queensland for a few days, reaching southern Australia from the weekend. A ridge is present along the east coast. The ridge will strengthen on Friday with a high moving east over the Great Australian Bight. The high will then move to the Tasman Sea on Saturday and continue east, causing the ridge to weaken on Monday. The trough may slowly move east starting from Monday and weaken by Wednesday.

Friday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the west, becoming scattered near Emerald and Mareeba. Chance of severe thunderstorms with strong winds in the southwest. Partly cloudy with scattered showers elsewhere. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, shifting to north to northeasterly in the far west. Heatwave conditions in the far north and southwest.
Saturday: Saturday will have showers and thunderstorms in most of the state. The east coast north of Townsville will only have showers. Far north will experience a heatwave. In the southeast, maximum temperatures will be below average while north of Georgetown and in the Central West District, they will be above average. Elsewhere, temperatures will be near average.
Sunday: Most of the state will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly showers in the southeast and along the east coast. Southwest will have widespread showers and possibly severe thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rain. Far north will experience a heatwave with temperatures above average, while other areas will have near-average temperatures.
Monday: Expect showers and thunderstorms throughout most of the state, with more showers on the east coast. Isolated showers in the southeast. Far north will experience a heatwave. Temperature forecast: above average in the north, below average in the west and southern interior, and near average elsewhere.
North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:
The weather will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from 30 to 35 and light winds becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the middle of the day.
Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
The weather will be mostly sunny in the morning with a chance of a thunderstorm in the north later, light winds becoming east to northeasterly, and temperatures ranging from low to mid 20s overnight to 32-37 during the day.
Central Coast and Whitsundays:
Max temperature: 37, Min temperature: low 20s, Wind speed: Light changing to easterly 15 to 25 km/h, Wind direction: Easterly, Rainfall: Slight chance of a shower in the south, near zero chance elsewhere. Mostly sunny.
Peninsula:
Mostly sunny with medium chance of showers near west coast, slight chance elsewhere. Chance of a thunderstorm. Light winds becoming easterly 15-25km/h, falling overnight to mid 20s with daytime temps reaching mid to high 30s.
Gulf Country:
Max temperature: mid to high 30s, Min temperature: mid to high 20s, Wind speed: light winds becoming 15-20 km/h, Wind direction: northwest to northeasterly, Rainfall: Partly cloudy with medium chance of showers and a chance of thunderstorm.
Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:
Max temperature: 34 to 39, Min temperature: low to mid 20s, Wind speed: light winds becoming northeast to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h, Wind direction: Not specified, Rainfall: Near zero chance in most areas with a slight chance of a shower in the west, Other conditions: Partly cloudy, chance of a thunderstorm.
Capricornia:
The day will start mostly sunny and gradually become partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon and evening, particularly in the south where there is a chance of thunderstorms. Wind will be light in the morning, becoming east to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the early afternoon and then shifting to east to northeasterly in the evening. Temperatures will range from the low 20s overnight to a high of 32 to 37 degrees during the day.
