North Queensland

  • North Tropical Coast and Tablelands Max 26, Mostly sunny, 5% chance of rain. Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower near the coast, near zero chance elsewhere. Winds from the east to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h.

  • Cairns Max 27, Mostly sunny, 10% chance of rain. Winds southerly 15 to 20 km/h, becoming southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, then light in the evening.

  • Mackay Max 23, Sunny, 10% chance of rain. Winds southerly 15 to 20 km/h, becoming southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, then light in the evening.

National

In the Tasman Sea, a high extends over Queensland, weakening as a trough passes. A new high will form in southern Australia next week, bringing showers to eastern districts.

State

A Tasman Sea high extends to Queensland with a weakening ridge. The trough weakens the high and ridge, while a new high forms over southern Australia next week, moving slowly eastward. This brings onshore winds and showers to eastern districts as a firm extends across Queensland.


4-day

  • Monday: Partly cloudy with some showers along the tropical east coast, becoming scattered on the North Tropical Coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning fog and frost in some areas. Temperatures near or above average, with some areas experiencing higher than average temperatures.

  • Tuesday: Tuesday's weather will be partly cloudy with isolated showers in southeastern Queensland and along the east coast. There might be scattered showers along the North Tropical Coast. The rest of the areas will be mostly sunny. Central Queensland may have patchy morning fog, while the Granite Belt may experience patchy morning frost. Temperatures will be above average, especially in the southeastern interior.

  • Wednesday: Partly cloudy with showers in the east, scattered showers in coastal areas, and isolated afternoon showers in central and northern regions. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Above average minimum temperatures and near average maximum temperatures in the east, well above average in the west.

  • Thursday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers in the east, mainly near the coast and scattered in the North Tropical Coast. Isolated showers in the southwest on Friday. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Temperatures above average, especially in the southern inland and western Queensland.
