North Queensland

  • Townsville Max 27, Partly cloudy, 5% chance of rain. Light winds, becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon, then light in the evening.

  • Herbert and Lower Burdekin Max 27, Cloud clearing, 5% chance of rain. Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower in the north, near zero chance elsewhere. Light winds, becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon, then light in the evening.

  • North Tropical Coast and Tablelands Max 25, Possible shower, 40% chance of rain. Partly cloudy with a high chance of showers near the coast and a medium chance elsewhere. Winds from the east to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h.

  • Cairns Max 27, Shower or two, 60% chance of rain. Partly cloudy with a medium chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. Light winds, becoming southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning.

  • Mackay Max 24, Mostly sunny, 5% chance of rain. Mostly sunny with light winds, becoming southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, then light in the evening.

  • Northern Goldfields Max 29, Partly cloudy, 0% chance of rain. Mostly sunny with winds from the east to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h.

  • Mt Isa Max 29, Sunny, 0% chance of rain. Sunny with light winds, becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, then tending southeasterly in the middle of the day.


National

High in Tasman Sea brings calm weather in Queensland. Weak trough with showers crosses state's interior. Stronger high develops, bringing winds and showers to east districts

State

A high over Tasman Sea brings settled conditions to Queensland, with a weak ridge. Cloud and isolated showers from a slow-moving trough in the state's southern interior. A stronger high will form over southeastern Australia on Tuesday, bringing onshore winds, showers to eastern districts.


4-day

  • Tuesday: Partly cloudy with showers in southeast Queensland and along the east coast. Some thunderstorms near the Gold Coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere with fog and frost in certain areas. Above average temperatures, especially in the southeastern interior.

  • Wednesday: Partly cloudy with showers in east and scattered about North Tropical Coast, Mackay and Whitsundays coast, and Sunshine Coast. Isolated afternoon showers in Central Highlands, Coalfields, and Northern Goldfields. Minimum temps above average. Max temps near average in east, well above average in western QLD.

  • Thursday: Thursday: Some clouds and showers in the east, mainly near the coast. More clouds in other areas. Temperatures above average, especially in the southern interior and western Queensland.

  • Friday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers in the east and scattered showers in the North Tropical Coast. Isolated showers in the southern interior. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Above average maximum temperatures in the west, near average in the east. Above average minimum temperatures.
