Pandanus Park Golf Centre

Pandanus Park Golf Centre is located at 2 Tompkins Road, Shaw (opposite the RSPCA) and is Townsville’s only day and night driving range.

The concept behind Pandanus Park was to provide a facility to cater for all capabilities of golfers, including first-time golfers. The attractive watercourse and natural bushland setting provide a relaxing background. Entry from the car park crosses a bridge over a small creek lined with striking natural vegetation including some very picturesque stands of pandanus and melaleucas.

Intended to be much more than a golf practice centre, Pandanus Park Golf Centre offers a tranquil place to relax and enjoy all that the sport of golf has to offer.

Rain event forecast special

Tuesday: Today the rain clears as the trough passes over the coast, heavy falls still expected between Bowen and Mackay, the EC expecting up to 90mm but the ACCESS which has been better on intensity is expecting up to 60mm.

Wednesday: The tail of the trough will clear but some rain (5 to 20mm) around Rocky to Bundaberg, maybe still some residual around the Whitsundays to Sarina if it takes a little longer to pass.

National

A high over the Tasman Sea will weaken and move northeast. An upper trough over eastern Queensland will weaken and move east out of the state. A surface trough developing over western and central Queensland will weaken into a broad trough over southern and central Queensland. The trough will move east on Wednesday and Thursday and push offshore early on Friday morning. A new ridge will form across the state from Thursday. A high crossing southern Australia next Sunday and Monday will maintain the ridge. Yes that looks like a strange number in SA for rainfall.

State

Expect a mix of scattered to widespread showers, a chance of thunderstorms, and partly cloudy conditions across various districts, with rainfall gradually shifting eastward during the day. Winds will be light to moderate, initially from the northeast to southeasterly direction but transitioning to southwesterly in the west. Maximum temperatures will be below average in the west and near average elsewhere, while minimum temperatures will be below average in the northwest but above average elsewhere.

4-day

Wednesday: Scattered to widespread showers in the east, mostly sunny in the northwest, temperature variations.

Thursday: Isolated to scattered showers in the east, widespread showers in the Torres Strait, temperature variations.

Friday: Isolated showers in the east, scattered showers in the Torres Strait, mostly sunny elsewhere.

Saturday until Monday: Isolated showers in the North Tropical Coast and Peninsula, mostly sunny elsewhere, morning frost in the south and central, temperature variations.

Townsville

The forecast for the rest of Tuesday indicates a maximum temperature of 28 degrees. The weather will be characterized by showers, with a high chance of rain at 90%. The sky will be cloudy, and although showers will be prevalent, they are expected to become less likely as the late morning approaches. Additionally, there is a chance of a thunderstorm occurring. The wind conditions will be light.
