Easter still looking wet early and drier later at least for South of Cardwell and Hughenden. The Country Fest may see showers on the 30th but only scattedered showers, then fine the next day.


National

Across northeastern Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), northern South Australia (SA), northern New South Wales (NSW), and Queensland (QLD), rain, showers, and storms sweep. Meanwhile, due to onshore winds, showers prevail along the eastern seaboard and southeastern WA. Tasmania (TAS) experiences gusty winds and showers with the passage of a cold front, while the southern regions remain mostly dry and settled.

  • Sunday: Saturday's weather includes isolated to scattered showers in most districts, with a chance of thunderstorms west of Barcaldine to Innisfail. Showers are widespread at times over Cape York Peninsula and along the east coast north of Townsville, with locally heavy rainfall possible. In west to southwest Queensland, there are scattered to widespread showers with moderate rainfall amounts. The North West faces a risk of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. Winds are moderate northeast to southeasterly, becoming light northwesterly in the northern Peninsula and Torres Strait.

  • Monday: Frequent showers expected statewide, chance of thunderstorms in western, central, and northern Queensland. Moderate to heavy rainfall in some areas. Cooler temperatures in the interior regions.

  • Tuesday: Scattered showers with possible thunderstorms in north and central Queensland. Rain likely in northern, central, and eastern Queensland with some heavy falls possible. Severe thunderstorms with heavy rain possible in the central and southern interior. Isolated showers in the far southwest. Below average temperatures in the interior, west, and south; near average elsewhere.

  • Wednesday: Expect scattered showers with possible thunderstorms in northern and central QLD and southern interior. Showers may become widespread with some areas of moderate rainfall in eastern QLD. Uncertain rainfall amounts. Isolated showers in the far southwest. Below-average temperatures in the interior, west, and south.



North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Max temperature: 30°C, Min temperature: 24°C, Wind speed: Light winds becoming easterly 15-20 km/h, Wind direction: Easterly, Rainfall: Very high chance of showers, Other: Cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms in the late morning and afternoon.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Max temperature 33°C, min temperature 25°C, wind speed becoming northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h, wind direction, other 'Cloudy', very high chance of showers in the north and a medium chance elsewhere, and a chance of a thunderstorm.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Max temperature: 34°C, Min temperature: low 20s, Wind speed: 15 to 20 km/h, Wind direction: east to northeasterly, Rainfall: Slight chance of a shower, Other: Partly cloudy.

Peninsula:

The weather forecast includes maximum temperature in the low 30s, minimum temperature in the low to mid 20s, light winds, high chance of showers with thunderstorm likely, and partly cloudy conditions.

Gulf Country:

Max temperature 30°C, min temperature mid 20s, light winds, Cloudy with very high chance of showers and possible thunderstorm, heavy falls inland.

Capricornia:

Max temperature: 30°C, Min temperature: 18-22°C, Wind: Light becoming easterly 15-20 km/h, Rain: Medium chance of showers mainly in the afternoon and evening, Sky: Partly cloudy.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

Max temperature: 34°C, Min temperature: 17°C, Wind speed: 15-20 km/h, Wind direction: East to northeasterly, Rainfall:Showers likely, Cloud cover: Cloudy

Central West:

Maximum temperature: 32°C, Minimum temperature: 23°C, Wind speed: 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: North to northeasterly, Rainfall: Showers and thunderstorm possibly severe, Other: Cloudy with variable winds.

North West:

Temperatures reaching 25-30°C, light winds becoming 15-20 km/h south to southeasterly, high chance of showers with possible severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, cloudy conditions.

Channel Country:

The temperature will reach the low to high 20s with south to southeasterly winds increasing to 25-35 km/h, high chance of showers mainly in the morning and afternoon, chance of thunderstorm in the far north, and overnight temperatures dropping to around 20.

Maranoa and Warrego:

Expect a cloudy day with very high chance of rain, possible thunderstorm in the northwest, heavy falls in the west, with max temp 23°C, min temp 16°C, easterly winds 15-25 km/h, and rainfall likely.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

Max temperature: 22°C, Min temperature: 17°C, Wind: Light becoming easterly 15-20 km/h, Rainfall: High chance of showers, Cloudy conditions with falling overnight temperatures.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

The weather forecast includes a max temperature of 28°C, a min temperature of 17-20°C, light winds becoming southeasterly 15-20 km/h, a medium chance of showers most likely in the late morning, and overnight temperatures falling to 17-20°C.

Southeast Coast:

The weather will be mild with temperatures ranging from the high teens to the low to mid 20s, light winds, and cloudy skies with a high chance of showers.

  • Gale warning is also issued for western and southeastern areas.

  • Final flood warning is issued for the Paroo River.

  • Final flood warning is also issued for the Warrego River.

Victoria (VIC):

  • Strong wind warning for Sunday for Central, Central Gippsland, and East Gippsland coasts.

  • South Australia (SA):

  • Strong wind warning for Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent, Upper West, and Lower West coasts.

  • Flood warning is issued for the inland rivers in SA.

Queensland (QLD):

  • Flood watch is issued for South West Queensland and parts of Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country.

  • Minor flood warning is issued for the Daintree River and flood warning for the Mossman River.

  • Minor flood warning is also issued for the Nicholson River and flood warning for the Leichhardt River.

  • Moderate flood warning is in effect for Eyre Creek and minor flood warning for the Georgina River.

Northern Territory (NT):

  • Minor flood warning is issued for the Mcarthur River.

  • Flood watch is issued for the Sturt Creek District and East Kimberley Rivers.

  • Flood watch is also issued for central and southern parts of the NT.

  • Moderate flood warning is in effect for the Daly River.
