National

The weather gods are playing tug of war! The low pressure systems are finally giving us a break, except for the infamous Severe Tropical Cyclone Herman, who's still causing chaos in the wild wild west of the Indian Ocean. But fear not, a new hero has emerged - a High pressure system is stepping up to take control of the weather in the lower latitudes of the country. However, don't count out Western Australia just yet, as a weak low pressure system is lingering over Geraldton, bringing in some cloudy drama from the southeast. And as if that's not enough, a weak trough is also hanging around in the northeast, stretching its cloudy arms all the way to South Australia.

State

Hold on to your hats, Queenslanders, because things are heating up! The temperatures are still on fire up in the North, while down south it's a bit cooler. But that's not all, folks! We've got a bit of rain showering off the coast of Sarina, and a storm brewing up a wild ruckus north of Normanton. And it's not stopping there, oh no! A trough is forming throughout the day off the North tropical coast, bringing in more showers from Sarina all the way to the Whitsundays. Brace yourselves for an epic afternoon, because storms are likely to hit this region hard! And as if that's not enough, the regions north of the Whitsundays right up to Cooktown may also get a taste of some possible storms. Hold tight, because the Eastern gulf region is also likely to experience some thunder and lightning.

4-day

Be sure to have your umbrellas close by, Queenslanders, because the weather report is about to get wild! Tomorrow, the trough along the North Queensland tropical coastline is going to dive deeper into the central Queensland region. Brace yourselves, because rain will be spreading all over the Central Highlands! But wait, there's more! On Sunday, the trough will deepen even further, bringing in more showers and rain over Atherton, and even spreading a bit further south. Get ready for a wet and wild start to the week, because on Monday, the trough will deepen even more with some onshore trade winds. The rain will still be around and slightly increased, and that's not all, folks! Central Australia is going to get a taste of some heavy rain too, as a trough deepens there. And as if that's not enough, on Tuesday, the rain will just spread even further, as both troughs deepen and we start to see the impact of a possible oncoming last monsoon pulse.
