National

Hot northerly winds sweeping across SA, Vic, parts of NSW, and Tas. Onshore winds bringing additional showers to the Qld and northeast NSW coasts. Widespread showers and storms expected in the northern tropics and the western and central deserts due to moist and unstable winds.

High over Tasman Sea extends ridge over state. New high on Friday maintains ridge, increases winds. High persists but weakens from Tuesday. Trough deepens over Coral Sea and Arafura Sea from Sunday, may become monsoon trough from Monday. Potential for tropical lows mid-late next week.

  • Friday: North of Moranbah and Richmond: Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Eastern districts south of Ingham: Isolated to scattered showers. Cooktown to Mackay: Showers likely with a possible thunderstorm. Elsewhere: Mostly clear. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh at times on the east coast.

  • Saturday: North of Winton and Bowen: Isolated showers and thunderstorms. South of Bowen: Isolated showers. North Tropical Coast: Showers likely with possible heavy falls. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Above average temperatures in far southwest, near average elsewhere.

  • Sunday: Rain in some areas, thunderstorms in others. Rain later in North Tropical Coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Temperature varies.

  • Monday: Some showers & storms in the north. Widespread rain in North Tropical Coast. Showers in east below Ingham. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Higher temps in far southwest; average elsewhere.



North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Max temperature: 32, Min temperature: low 20s, Wind speed: 20 to 30 km/h east to southeasterly, Wind direction: east to southeasterly, Rainfall: High chance of showers with heavy falls near the coast, Other: Cloudy with chance of thunderstorm.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Max temperature: around 30, Min temperature: low to mid 20s, Wind speed: 20 to 30 km/h from the east to southeast, Wind direction: east to southeasterly, Rainfall: high chance of showers, other: Cloudy with chance of thunderstorm.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

The weather will be partly cloudy with a max temperature around 30°C, min temperature in the low 20s, southeasterly winds of 25 to 35 km/h, and a medium chance of showers anticipated during late morning and afternoon.

Peninsula:

The weather forecast includes temperatures ranging from low to mid 30s with light winds becoming east to southeasterly, a high chance of showers most likely in the late morning, and the possibility of a thunderstorm.

Gulf Country:

Highs in the mid 30s, lows in the mid 20s with partly cloudy skies, chance of showers, thunderstorm, and easterly winds shifting throughout the day.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Partly cloudy with max temp 35°C, min temp low 20s, easterly winds 25-35 km/h, medium chance of showers east, slight chance elsewhere, possible thunderstorms in the north.

Capricornia:

Max temperature: 30°C, Min temperature: 18-23°C, Wind: SE 25-35 km/h, Rainfall: Slight chance of shower near coast, mainly dry, Forecast: Partly cloudy.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

The maximum temperature will reach the low 30s with minimal rain, wind speeds of 20 to 30 km/h from the east to southeasterly direction, and partly cloudy conditions overnight with temperatures falling between 18 and 21.

Central West:

Mostly sunny with daytime temperatures in the low to mid 30s, overnight temperatures dropping to 20 to 25, easterly winds increasing from 15 to 25 km/h to 25 to 35 km/h, and no rainfall expected.

North West:

Maximum temperature in the mid to high 30s, minimum temperature in the mid 20s, easterly winds at 25 to 35 km/h with a slight chance of a shower in the northwest and near zero chance elsewhere, partly cloudy conditions.

Channel Country:

Mostly sunny with daytime temperatures reaching the mid to high 30s, overnight temperatures falling to the mid to high 20s, easterly winds at 25 to 35 km/h, with no rainfall expected.

Maranoa and Warrego:

Weather with mostly sunny skies, easterly to northeasterly winds 15-35 km/h, temperatures ranging from 18°C to 37°C, and no rainfall expected.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

The weather includes maximum temperature of 35°C, minimum temperature of 17°C, easterly winds at 25 to 35 km/h, slight chance of shower over Granite Belt, and partly cloudy conditions with near zero chance of rain elsewhere.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

The weather will reach a maximum temperature of around 30 degrees with southeasterly winds of 25 to 35 km/h, partly cloudy skies, slight chance of a shower in the south, near zero chance elsewhere, and overnight temperatures falling to 17-21 degrees.

Southeast Coast:

The weather will be partly cloudy with a medium chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. Maximum temperatures will reach the mid to high 20s with overnight temperatures falling to between 18 and 22, southeasterly winds at 25 to 35 km/h, and no significant rainfall.
