Storms special report

A trough and low in the east will bring rain, storms, and gusty winds to southeast NSW and eastern VIC. Other lows and troughs will maintain heat, showers, and storms in QLD, northern tropics, western SA, and eastern WA. A trough in WA will broaden, allowing heat to build inland. A tropical low is starting to appear on models and this lines up with the monsoon pulse forecast by the long range forecast. There will be many models, some showing it heading for QLD, my approach is 4 days at a time, anything past that is speculation and yesterday's fish and chip paper.

National

A trough over NSW is expected to head East out into the Tasman and form an East Coast Low. This is attached to a trough over QLD.

State

A weather system north of New Zealand will create a weak ridge along the east coast, leading to warm and dry winds in southern Queensland. However, a trough will move across the area on Thursday, causing rain and humid conditions. The trough will then move back and forth over the next few days before a ridge strengthens next week along the east coast.

4-day

Thursday will see isolated showers and thunderstorms in various parts of Queensland, accompanied by westerly winds in the south and northeasterly winds along the southeast coast. Temperatures in the east will be above average.

On Friday, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the state, with the possibility of severe thunderstorms in specific areas. Temperatures in the eastern region will be above average, while the far west will experience an elevated risk of wildfires.

Saturday will bring more showers and thunderstorms across most of Queensland, particularly in the southeast. The east will experience above average temperatures.

Sunday will see scattered showers and thunderstorms in central, eastern, and northern districts, while the southwest and southern interior will enjoy mostly sunny conditions. Temperatures will be near or above average, and the tropical northeast will experience severe heatwave conditions. There may also be high fire dangers in the southern and southeastern interior.
