National

High pressure moving east over Great Australian Bight & southeastern Australia extends ridge across most of Queensland. High to move into Tasman Sea, maintaining ridge over eastern state. West trough enhances shower & thunderstorm activity. This trough to drift east across south from Tuesday & weaken. Another trough may move across south from Thursday, reaching SE Queensland Friday or Saturday.

State

A large high over the Great Australian Bight and southeastern Australia will bring a strong ridge to most of Queensland. It will move towards the Tasman Sea, but will still maintain a firm ridge over the eastern part of the state throughout the week. A trough in the west is causing increased showers and thunderstorms, which will gradually move east across the southern part of the state and weaken. Another trough is expected to move across the south of the state from Thursday and may reach South East Queensland by Friday or Saturday.
