National
Weak high pressure remains over northern Queensland. A trough clears eastward across the interior, then offshore of the southeast Queensland coast. A high crossing the Great Australian Bight brings high pressure across most of Queensland, followed by a southeasterly wind surge moving north along the east coast from Tuesday. A trough re-establishes over western Queensland from Wednesday, then moves eastward across the interior later in the week.
State
High pressure remains over northern Queensland. An eastward-moving trough will clear the southeast Queensland coast later today. High pressure from the Great Australian Bight will spread across most of Queensland after the trough, bringing a southeasterly wind surge along the east coast from Tuesday. Another trough will form over western Queensland on Wednesday, moving eastward across the interior later in the week.

Tuesday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms in Carnarvon Ranges and southeast Queensland. Clear elsewhere. Smoke haze in central and northern Queensland. Gusty, warm winds in central and southeast Queensland. Wind change in southern and southeast Queensland. Moderate to fresh winds in western Queensland. Light to moderate winds in the north.
Wednesday: Eastern Queensland has partly cloudy skies with light showers in some areas along the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and tropical east coast. The central and southern interior can expect partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The rest of the region will be mostly sunny. Maximum temperatures will be slightly below average in the east and slightly above average in the west.
Thursday: Isolated light showers in Wet Tropics, Torres Strait, and the coastal fringe and islands south of K'gari. Partly cloudy, chance of thunderstorm in central and southern interior. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Slightly below average max temperatures in east and north, above average in southwest.
Friday: Sunny with above average temps.
Townsville
