Tropical Low report
Tropical Cyclone Lola is now a Category 1 system and weakening to a tropical low. It will continue as a weak low and bring some rain and possible storms and strong wind gusts to New Caledonia and then head SE towards the cyclone Graveyard NE of NZ.
National
Weak ridge persists over eastern Queensland. Moving trough brings cooler air to central and southern Queensland. High combines with offshore trough and remnants of Cyclone Lola, increases winds and seas off southeast coast. High reaches Tasman Sea, ridge persists. Ex-Lola moves towards New Zealand. New trough possible next week.
State
A weak ridge stays in eastern Queensland, while a trough moves across central and southern Queensland. It will cross the southeast on Thursday and move offshore on Friday. A high pressure system will move across the Great Australian Bight, creating a firm ridge and cooler air for southern and central Queensland. On Friday, the high pressure system will combine with an offshore trough and remnants of Tropical Cyclone Lola, resulting in stronger winds and rough seas off the southeast coast. The high pressure system will reach the Tasman Sea on Saturday, maintaining a ridge over the state for the next few days. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lola may head south towards New Zealand early next week. A new trough is expected to move east across Queensland next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thursday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms in central and southern Queensland, mainly inland and in the Gulf Country District. Partly cloudy in the southwest, mostly clear elsewhere. Possible raised dust in the southwest. Moderate to fresh south-to-southwesterly winds in western districts and the southern interior. Light to moderate northwest to northeasterly winds elsewhere.
Friday: Isolated to scattered showers in east districts, more rain in the southeast. Chance of thunderstorms in the southeast coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Strong southeasterly winds in west districts. Above average temperatures in the north and east, below average elsewhere, and well below average in the southeast. Extreme fire danger in the west.
Saturday: Isolated showers in the southeast and North Tropical Coast, becoming scattered in the northern Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Below-average maximum temperatures in the southeast, near average elsewhere.
Sunday: Possible rewording: Isolated showers in Torres Strait, mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest experiencing above-average temperatures, while other areas are near average.
Townsville

Herbert and Lower Burdekin

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands
Min 17 Max 35 Sunny, 0% rain. Winds from east to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, transitioning to east to northeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the evening, and eventually becoming light in the late evening.
Cairns
Min 20 Max 32 Sunny, 0% rain. Light winds, transitioning to easterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon and then becoming light in the late afternoon.
Mackay
Min 18 Max 30 Mostly sunny, 0% rain. Light winds, shifting to northeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day and then turning northerly in the late afternoon.
Northern Goldfields
Min 22 Max 39 Sunny, 0% rain. Winds from the north to northeasterly at 20 to 30 km/h, transitioning to south to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h early in the morning, then becoming southeast to southwesterly at 25 to 35 km/h in the morning.
Mt Isa
