National

Tasman Sea high extends over the state, drifting north slowly over next few days. Trough system moves into southern Queensland Wednesday, central and southeastern Queensland Thursday, weakens Friday. Southeastern Australia high moves east on Thursday, reaching Tasman Sea on Friday, extending new ridge over state. High drifts east next weekend, maintains ridge.

A Tasman Sea high extends over the state and will move north. A trough system will move over Queensland, weakening on Friday. Another high will move east, extending a ridge over the state and drifting east next weekend.

  • Wednesday: Southern Queensland: Isolated showers, possible thunderstorm.

  • East coast, north of Townsville and Torres Strait: Isolated showers, sometimes scattered.

  • North Tropical Coast: Mostly sunny, but sometimes scattered showers.
