Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina - Radar Update (22/11 AM)

  • Nov 22
  • 1 min read

TC Fina is still sitting north-east of Darwin and slowly drifting west–southwest. The radar frames about 30 minutes apart show only a small movement, so it’s a slow-moving system passing directly north of the city.

Rain over Darwin has increased slightly with steady light–moderate falls, while the heavier bands are still wrapped around the centre near Cape Hotham and Point Stuart.

Darwin Airport winds are now around 30 km/h with gusts to 50 km/h, matching the cyclone tightening as it edges closer.

Expect the strongest gales and heavier rain bands later this morning into early afternoon as the southern side brushes past. The centre stays offshore to the north.

More updates shortly. Stay safe.
