Queensland Synoptic
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred is now just a sad little trough in New South Wales, while Queensland gets to enjoy a ridge for a while. In the southwest and southern interior, a lingering trough will make sure you don't forget it's there until Wednesday. But don't worry, the trough will soon be pushed west into central Australia by Thursday, as a new high takes over the Tasman Sea, bringing a ridge to most of the state for a few days.
Forecast for Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
Looks like we've got some clouds rolling in, with a decent shot at some showers popping up, especially around late morning and afternoon. Thunderstorm potential is also on the horizon. The breeze will start off light but will pick up to a nice easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon before calming down in the evening. Overnight, temps will drop to the low to mid 20s, while daytime highs will hit the low to mid 30s. So, grab your umbrella and maybe a fan, and let's see what weather surprises are in store for us today!
