You have heard about the cyclone graveyard, but what is it? Well it's where a cyclone goes to die. Ok sounded like a bad joke. But it's the truth.

Tropical cyclone as opposed to a cold core cyclone die over land because they need warm sea water to build cloud. Cyclones Yasi died over land for example.

Cyclones can die when they run out of warm water the further South they go in the Southern Hemisphere, and they will die. Cyclones tend to head South due to a few factors, "angular momentum with respect to the Earth's axis." http://www.hurricanescience.org/science/science/hurricanemovement/

The graveyard is essentially New Zealand as the winds tend to direct them in that direction between the High pressures that move from West to East.

Thursdays riddle

I can sometimes be seen on a rod but I’m not a fish

I can be forked but I’m not a tongue

I’m bright but I’m not the sun

I’m electric but I don’t have any wires

I’m seen during a storm but I’m not a cloud
