National 4 Day Forecast

Windy.com NEW ACCESS 4 Day Accumulated Rain and Synoptic

Tuesday: There might be some lonely showers lurking around, possibly with a grumpy thunderstorm crashing the party. Keep an eye out for scattered showers along the Cassowary and Daintree coasts. Winds will be doing a little dance from the northeast to northwesterly direction, then switching things up to southeasterly. It's all happening behind a slow-moving trough. Don't be surprised if the winds switch to an east to southeasterly direction along the eastern coastal areas north of Yeppoon. Time to grab your umbrella and hope for the best!

Wednesday: Today, the state will be enjoying some extra sunshine and warmth, which is rather unusual for this time of year. There might be a few scattered showers showing up on the east coast above Rockhampton, particularly around the Cassowary and Daintree coasts, as well as the east Peninsula coast. The temperatures are going to be much warmer than usual, especially in the southern interior below Townsville and in the southeast, although they will still be above average in other areas as well.

Thursday: Today's weather is like that one friend who always shows up uninvited but brings the good vibes. Expect lots of sunshine and warmer-than-usual temperatures throughout most of the state. If you're on the east coast north of Carmila, you might encounter some isolated showers, kind of like the annoying kid who won't stop following you around. The areas around the Cassowary and Daintree coasts, as well as the east Peninsula coast, might experience scattered showers, so bring an umbrella just in case. Temperatures will be higher than usual in the interior south of Townsville and in the southeast – it's like the weather is trying to show off its best summer outfit there. Everywhere else, expect it to be warmer than average, so get ready to embrace the unexpected heat wave.

Friday: Looks like the state is in for a sunny treat, feeling a bit too warm for this time of year. Don't be surprised to see a few scattered showers along the east coast above Proserpine, and around the Cassowary and Daintree coasts, as well as the east Peninsula coast. Temperatures are shooting up, especially south of Townsville and in the southeast - almost breaking records! Everywhere else is just feeling a bit above average.

State

Windy.com ACCESS (Values are rainfall over 3 hours)

There's this big high out east of New Zealand showing off its ridge over the eastern part of the state. The high and its ridge are planning to take a fancy trip east in the next few days. Meanwhile, a trough is strolling east across the southern parts of the state, bringing along some warm northerly winds. The trough is expected to head off to sea early tomorrow, but don't worry - a bunch more troughs are waiting in line to keep the warm winds flowing and the unusually toasty weather sticking around for the rest of the week. Cheers to that!

Regional Round-Up

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Expect some clouds blocking the sunshine, with a good chance of showers flirting with the coast and a medium chance for the rest of the area to get a little wet. Winds will make you feel like you're being blown from the east to southeasterly direction at speeds of 20 to 30 km/h. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 13-20°C, while daytime temperatures will climb to a pleasant 23-28°C. So, pack an umbrella just in case, but don't forget your sunglasses!

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Partly cloudy with a witty chance of fog in the south early on, a slight shower possibility in the north (keep an umbrella handy), and near-zero chances elsewhere; winds light, so no flying cars yet, becoming easterly at a leisurely 15 to 25 km/h in the AM and light again at night (perfect for a lazy evening stroll); expect overnight temps to dip between 14-17°C (snuggle up), while daytime highs will flirt with the mid to high 20s°C (time for sunscreen and shades).

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Partly cloudy with a touch of fog in the morning, so keep those headlights handy for a dramatic entrance. A sprinkle might greet the coast, but the rest of us stay dry as a bone. Winds light as a feather at first, then picking up speed from the east but will eventually lay to rest by evening. Temperatures on a rollercoaster ride from mild nights to warm days - pack a light sweater just in case.

Peninsula:

Tomorrow's weather: Partly cloudy with a touch of drama - medium chance of showers near the east coast, but don't hold your breath for a drop elsewhere. Winds playing hide and seek at 15 to 20 km/h from the east before dawn, shifting to a gentle breeze then a stronger easterly dance at 20 to 30 km/h in the morning. Overnight will feel like home at 15 to 21 degrees, while the daytime will turn up the heat, sizzling at 29 to 35 degrees. Pack an umbrella, sunscreen and a windbreaker - it's going to be a wild ride! 🌦️🌬️

Overnight, expect temperatures to drop to a comfy range of 16 to 19 degrees, while daytime temperatures will soar into the low to mid 30s. Rainfall not on the agenda, so no need for umbrellas today!

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Another day in paradise - mostly sunny with a possibility of fog in the southeast during the early morning hours. Prepare for a gentle easterly breeze of 15 to 20 km/h, shifting to light before ramping up to a breezy 20 to 30 km/h. Overnight lows dipping to a comfortable 13-17 degrees, while daytime highs will sizzle between 29-35. Pack your sunglasses and a light jacket just in case!

Partly cloudy skies beckoning you outside; be wary of morning fog creeping in for a surprise visit. Keep an eye on the southwest for a potential thunderstorm crashing the party later on. Light winds to cool you down like a gentle whisper. Overnight temperatures snuggling between 12 to 15 degrees, while daytime highs sizzle at 26 to 31 degrees. Keep your umbrella close, your sunscreen closer, and buckle up for a bit of everything in today's weather adventure!

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

Expect a mostly sunny day with some fog likely in the early morning and a chance of a thunderstorm in the southeast by afternoon. Hold onto your hats as light winds will shift to an east to northeasterly direction at 15 to 25 km/h before calming down in the evening. Overnight, temperatures will drop to around 13 degrees, while daytime highs will peak at a balmy 30 degrees.

Central West:

Expect a balmy day with the sun taking the spotlight, gently breezing through with winds shifting from east to northeasterly at 20 to 30 km/h by morning, resulting in daytime temperatures strutting their stuff between 31 to 36 degrees, while nighttime lows retreat to a cool 14. No umbrella needed today, folks!

North West:

Expect a sunny day where winds start off sluggish in the morning, pick up their pace mid-morning going easterly. Temperatures will drop overnight to a cozy 13-18 degrees, then soar to the mid-30s during the day. Brollies not required as not a drop of rain in sight!

Channel Country:

Expect a day hotter than your car seat in summer with temperatures hitting the low to mid 30s – yikes, sunscreen alert! Wind-wise, a dramatic performance is on the forecast – starting off as a diva from the south to southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, then doing a quick change to a west to northwesterly direction at 15 to 20 km/h before finally deciding to take a nap in the evening, becoming as light as a feather. Overnight, temperatures will drop to a bearable 10 to 15 degrees. Keep an eye on those sunset plans and prepare for a weather rollercoaster!

Don't forget your umbrella for the unexpected thunderous drama!

Light winds will gently caress your face, with overnight temperatures cooling to a cozy 12-15°C and daytime highs sizzling at 27-32°C. Make some indoor plans in case Mother Nature surprises you with a thunderous display!

Southeast Coast:

Partly cloudy with a touch of fog for that sleepy morning surprise. Keep an eye out for thunderstorms later on if you're feeling lucky inland. Light winds will whisk away any worries. Temps dipping overnight for cozy sleep and peaking at a comfortable 30 during the day.
