Queensland Synoptic

The trough in northwest and interior Queensland is on the move to central Australia, weakening in the next day or two - so grab your umbrellas just in case. Meanwhile, eastern Queensland can expect a persistent ridge that will strengthen on Friday, coinciding with a high moving into the Tasman Sea - perfect weather for a beach day. Watch out for the trough in the far northern Coral Sea, extending over the northern Peninsula and Torres Strait, as it joins forces with a firm ridge to bring enhanced winds and showers along the east coast in the coming days - time to batten down the hatches. And don't worry about that weak tropical low in the northern Coral Sea, it's expected to stay far away from the Queensland coast over the weekend and early next week, but who knows, it might surprise us with further development - stay tuned!

Forecast for Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Looks like we've got some moody clouds rolling in today, bringing along a high chance of showers - especially during that mid-morning and afternoon slump. And hey, who doesn't love a good thunderstorm, right? Along the coast, we might even get a little extra pizzazz with some thunder and lightning. Expect some breezy southeasterly winds, so hold onto your hats! Overnight, things will cool down to the low 20s, but don't worry, we'll be back to a toasty 30 degrees during the day. So, grab your umbrella and stay dry out there!
