Queensland Synoptic
Eastern Queensland will remain firm and ridged for a while, while a trough in the northern Coral Sea is expected to weaken and move northeast, taking Tropical Cyclone Alfred with it, likely enhancing winds and showers on the east coast. Keep an eye out for a trough sneaking into the far southwest later this week.
Forecast for Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
Looks like we've got some partly cloudy skies ahead with a decent chance of showers, especially in the late morning and afternoon. Don't forget your umbrella! Winds will start off light but will pick up to a breezy 15 to 25 km/h by the morning. Overnight, temperatures will drop to the low to mid 20s, so make sure to grab a cozy blanket. Daytime temps will be in the low to mid 30s, so maybe bring along some extra sunscreen!

Monsoon Special:
The next monsoon pulse due in Phase 6 (Gulf to Coral Sea) around the 26th March to 2nd April. Due to the 3rd pulse normally being weak, it tends to come around quicker so could be a week earlier.
More agreement on March 1st, with the EC being a little delayed in it's approach to the coast, still not clear crossing location or even if it will cross. We should see that agreement within 48 hours now and that would give 4 to 6 days notice at least. You can see the forecast for the High pressure below is pretty consistent, it's just the minute movements on the first that are out. So at this stage either a very close drive by on the 2nd to 4th or a crossing completed by the 3rd to 4th. A drive by meaning passing close to the coast but continuing South.
