National
If we cast our eyes from WA, we'll spot those fluffy clouds rollin' in towards the coast. They're part of a weak low-pressure system that passed through and has now formed into a trough, causin' some thunderstorms and rain just south of Port Hedland.
As for South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, there's a fair bit of unstable air, clouds, and some rain to boot. Looks like we might see some late storms pop up in the northwest of Victoria today. In New South Wales, the storms are expected to hit earlier and are more likely to occur 'round Coonabarabran. Keep an eye out for some storm activity up near the top of the Peninsula too.
State
Get ready for another warm day across the state, with temperatures soaring into the 30s for most locations. Windorah is leading the charge, heading for a scorching top of 40C!
But don't worry, the evenings are cooling down with lower humidity and fewer clouds, making for a comfortable night's sleep.
Now, if you take a look at the weather map, you'll see a blue arrow showing the return of High Pressure ridging across the QLD coastline. While this means a lower chance of rainfall, it also brings plenty of sunshine and beautiful blue skies.
The Purple dashed line you see is the trough running across Southern QLD, which has a frontal system to the South that's causing some instability over the Southern states. But don't fret, there may still be some isolated showers along the dividing ranges in QLD to keep things fresh and green. Keep smiling!
4-day
Hold on to your hats, folks! The next four days are shaping up to be an absolute thrill ride of weather activity, well for the SEQ at least.
We're kicking things off with a bang, as a whole lot of low-pressure activity moves in down South, creating a brand-spankin' new trough. While tomorrow may not bring any storms to speak of, we're keepin' our eyes peeled for Wednesday when we could see some electrifying thunderstorms rumbling across the Southern regions of QLD.
Meanwhile, up North, the North Tropical coast between Townsville and Cairns can expect some much-needed showers returning to the scene. But wait, there's more!
Thursday is when things really start to heat up, with storms and rain becoming more intense for the SEQ. Brace yourselves, folks in Bundy, 'cause these storms are reaching all the way up to you! And that's not all - the tail of that trough is set to head North up the coast, possibly hitting Rocky and even Mackay by Friday.
After all that excitement, things will start to cool off again, with showers easing back for the North tropical coast North of Mackay. But don't let your guard down just yet - this is Queensland, after all, and the weather is always full of surprises!
